IIHF is a world wide governing body for Ice Hockey. IIHF maintains world rankings based on World Cup style tournaments. IIHF requested SMT to participate in an RFP for the World Championship taking place in Finland.

My design theme embraces Finland's wonder of nature the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights is formed when charged particles from the sun collide with the Earth's atmosphere. The beauty and energy from these collisions parallel the high intensity of a hockey game. Shape and color was used to imply a sense of dynamic movement.
